ABOUT
OVERVIEW
Salih Sali is a cinematographer based in Barcelona, Spain working internationally. He is an experienced DOP, editor, director and has dabbled in production as well as script writing, DIT and colourist work for several projects.
Following his artistic nature and true passion for the expressive arts, his current work has been focused on short films, documentaries, music videos, commercials, fashion films and photography. The other side of his work has been following real life events and the advancing technology in the world of today - interviews, brand content and corporate videos for companies focused on innovation.
BACKGROUND
Salih was born and raised in the famous Valley of Roses and Thracian Kings - Kazanlak, Bulgaria - his first love from which he drew inspiration so, of course, the themes of nature and history are reflected in interlacing nuances throughout his work.
EDUCATION
Salih started his academic career in The Netherlands where he studied Art and Technology in Saxion University of Applied Arts in Enschede. After graduating with outstanding achievements, his thirst for new and exciting opportunities, lead him to Barcelona, Spain where he took an additional Minor in Visual Storytelling in IED.
EXPERIENCE
Salih’s first internship was in Bulgaria working for Camera & SIA film studio on several TV series.
In 2015, he returned to Barcelona for his next internship with Kalapa Studio which lead to his employment there between 2016 and 2019. The work with Kalapa provided him with priceless experience in a variety of projects where he had the opportunity to take the lead and explore different aspects of the business - directing, producing, shooting, editing etc - as well as the chance to collaborate with many established professionals in the filmmaking industry and learn from them.
